This Lora Hotel wedding in downtown Stillwater felt like the very best kind of fall day — sunshine like summer, a light breeze off the river, and that excited-but-chill energy that makes you just exhale and enjoy it.
Andrew and Devyn chose the Lora Hotel because they love Stillwater — the charm, the river views, the walkable downtown. It’s modern but historic, tucked right into the bluffs, and it fit them perfectly: relaxed, joyful, and a little bit unique.
And honestly? The whole day felt like them.

Andrew and Devyn met in college and they quickly bonded over gaming, traveling to Japan, Pokémon, and all the geeky goodness in between.
That shared love showed up in subtle, intentional ways throughout their wedding day — not over-the-top themed, but meaningful. Little nods that made guests smile if they were “in the know.”
When we first met for their engagement session, I could tell how naturally they clicked. They later told me how easy it was to work with me because I made the whole experience feel fun and personal — not stiff or overly posed. That means the world to me.

They decided to have their first look on the stone steps outside the Lora in downtown Stillwater — and it was one of my favorite moments of the day.
The sunlight was soft, the breeze just enough to move her dress a little, and the whole downtown buzzed quietly in the background. When Andrew turned around and saw Devyn, everything else faded out. It was one of those “Oh wow, this is actually happening” moments.
Romantic. Emotional. Grounded.
Afterward, we rolled right into wedding party and family portraits so they could enjoy cocktail hour later without feeling rushed — one of the biggest perks of structuring a timeline this way.

Their color palette was blue and eucalyptus — soft, romantic, and earthy. The eucalyptus was especially meaningful because Devyn describes herself as very down-to-earth, and she wanted that reflected in the day.
The wedding party wore eucalyptus, which looked so good against the warm stone of the hotel and the early fall light. It blended beautifully with the natural textures around the Lora.
Everything felt cohesive without trying too hard.
Before their wedding officially kicked off, I suggested something simple but powerful: use their private time to practice their first dance.
Sometimes those jitters don’t go away until you move your body a little. So I pulled out my phone, played their song, and let them rehearse together. No audience. No pressure. Just the two of them laughing and figuring it out.
By the time they stepped onto the dance floor later that evening, they were relaxed and ready.
That’s one of the things I care about most — not just capturing beautiful photos, but helping you feel good on your wedding day.
The ceremony space at the Lora Hotel always feels intimate in the best way. Surrounded by historic stone walls and warm light, it naturally draws your focus to the couple.
Their ceremony was heartfelt and joyful, and after their first kiss, Andrew stomped on a glass — a meaningful tradition that added such a celebratory moment to the end of the ceremony. The cheer from their guests immediately followed, and it set the tone for the rest of the night.
One of my favorite décor details? A time turner that they filled with sand. As fellow nerds, it was such a sweet symbolic touch — time passing, moments shared, and building a future together.

The whole Lora Hotel wedding had this easy, joyful atmosphere. Fall that felt like summer. Sunshine, light breeze, happy tears, and so much laughter.
Their friends and family were fully present — cheering loudly, hugging tightly, and celebrating these two in a way that felt genuine and warm.
It was excited but chill. Intentional but not overcomplicated. Full of love without feeling performative.
Exactly how a wedding should feel.
